Changes to the Live365 Personal Broadcaster Agreement

Until now, Live365 Personal Broadcasters have been prohibited from earning revenue from donations, banner ads and affiliate programs on their websites.

After much deliberation and some clarification from our partners at ASCAP, BMI and SESAC, we're thrilled to announce:

As a Personal Broadcaster, you may take donations, sell banner ads and/or merchandise on your site as long as you link to your Station Page on Live365. Starting immediately!

Earning Revenue as a Personal Broadcaster

As a Personal Broadcaster, you are no longer prohibited from earning revenue on your web site as long as you link directly to your station page from your website.

This means you can now:

  • Take donations via your own personal website
  • Sell banner ads on your site
  • Have your own online store, selling CDs, t-shirts, and other merchandise from your site. (eg cafepress.com)
  • Participate in affiliate programs (eg Amazon)
All you have to do is be sure you link to your live365 station page from your site. Here is the link to the proper linking procedures.

If you don't link as outlined below, you may expect to get a really mean letter from a lawyer (or three).

The Correct Way to Link (and keep the lawyers off your back!)

To link to your station page, you must use the following format:

<a href=http://www.live365.com/stations/your_broadcaster_name>
or
<a href=http://www.live365.com/stations/your_broadcaster_name?play>
Or, if you're an I100 subscriber
<a href=http://www.live365.com/stations/your_station_page_number>
or
<a href=http://www.live365.com/stations/your_station_page_number?play>
