Big Beat is a term coined in the 1990s to describe the sounds of artists such as The Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, The Chemical Brothers, The Crystal Method, and more. Typically driven by heavy breakbeats and synthesizer generated loops, the patterns in the music have much in common with electronic dance music such as techno and acid house.
