A derivative of Chamber music, performed on piano, which allows for melody, harmony and some degree of percussion by a single performer. Sometimes performed with an ensemble but generally just the soloist. Classical piano runs the gamut of introspective to wildly expressionistic, limited only by the skill and dexterity of the performer. --Ron Gould
