Ska is a form of Jamaican music which began in the 50s, combining elements of traditional Mento and Calypso with an American R&B influence. It is known for the placement of the accented guitar and piano rhythms on the upbeat, and was the predominant music of the "skinhead" movement. The second wave of Ska was the "two-tone" movement of the 80s, and the "third wave" of the 90's incorporated elements of Rock and Punk. --bahilman27
