Use Studio365 to create your own online radio station. Studio365 allows you to:
- Broadcast 24 hours a day
- No internet connection or downloads needed when broadcasting
- Storage for your MP3s
To use Studio365, follow these 8 Easy Steps:
- Enter Broadcast Info
- Convert your music/audio files into MP3s
- Upload your MP3s to your online MP3 collection
- Create/edit a Playlist
- Review Legal Info
- Check your Playlist
- Start your broadcast or cue a playlist
Note: Before you start creating your station, make sure your computer
meets the minimum system
requirements.
- Sign up for a username and password.
- After registering, we will send you an email verifying your new login
name and password. In this email, you will also a receive a link that
takes you to a login page to confirm your registration or you may simply respond to the email.
- First-time users can go the Broadcast section using the Broadcast tab at the top of the page. From there you go to the "Edit" section (using the gray "Edit" link in the top section). In the "Edit" section, using the tabs provided, you can manage your tracks, create playlists, check the playlist, and then cue it, making it available to the world!
Using the "Status" link in the subnav, you can then find out how things are going including stats about your listeners and your station's performance.
You are now ready to enter your broadcast information on the "Station Info" page.
To get to the "Station Info" page, click the "Edit" link in the subnav. If you are coming from a different location within
the "Edit" section, click on the "Station Info" tab. Go to the Station Info page directly.
- Choose your broadcast title.
- Listeners will see this when they are looking for a station... so be creative as possible.
- Listeners can also search by the words in your title.
- Type in a description for your broadcast. It's a good opportunity to "sell" your broadcast to prospective listeners
and its text is included in the default search.
- If eligible, type in keywords as well (Premium/PRO broadcasters only)
- If eligible, make your "ad content" selections (Premium/PRO broadcasters only)
- Choose a website to link your broadcast to. (This field is optional.)
- Choose up to 3 genres for your broadcast. Listeners can browse by genre to search for your music. The first, primary genre is the most important. It is sometimes used exclusively for searching, filtering and sorting when Listeners are trying to find you so choose it carefully.
- Choose a Minimum Connection Speed. This is the speed at which you think the majority of your listeners will
be connected. In most cases, the higher the connection speed, the better the sound quality. This is very important due
to the fact that all of your uploaded songs have to be encoded with this minimum connection speed in mind. It's not
something you can easily change at a later date. (more help)
- If you have a Station Id you can add it here to use in your broadcast. (This field is optional.) A Station ID is an
optional short audio spot you can create to identify your station. Your Station IDs are simply mp3 files that you have
created and uploaded along with your other tracks. You select them from your MP3 collection using the drop-down menus.
- Hit "Save" to store your Broadcast Information.
After you've completed your station info, your next step is to convert your music and audio files into MP3s. To convert your CDs into MP3s, we recommend:
- MusicMatch Jukebox if you
are a PC user. For detailed information, see how to
convert your MP3s.
- iTunes if
you are a Mac user.
After your music/audio is in MP3 format, it's time to upload them to your Live365.com online MP3 collection:
- To upload your MP3s, you will need to be on the "Tracks" main page. To get there:
- Log in and click the "Broadcast" tab at the top of the page. Then click the "Edit" link in the subnav. Then click the "Tracks" tab. Or go directly to the Tracks page.
- Once you are ready to upload your tracks, there are two easy ways.
- You can use the Web Upload at the top of the Tracks page.
- To Web Upload your files, click on the "Browse..." button to select the MP3 file you want to upload.
- Then click the "web upload" button to send it.
- We also have great, free stand-alone Studio365 software for PC and Mac including Studio365-Windows, Studio365-Mac,
and Studio365-Loader. These applications allow you to
- Upload multiple files at one time
- Automatically convert MP3 files to different bitrates
- Quicker and easier management of your tracks and your entire station

After you have uploaded a nice selection of tracks in your online MP3 collection. You will need to combine them into a Playlist.
The Playlist is the group/list of tracks, in a pre-selected order in which they will be heard by your listeners.
- To create or manage your Playlist, go to the "Playlist" page. You can get there by clicking "Edit" in the subnav
and then selecting the "Playlist" tab. Go to the Playlist page directly.
- If you are a first-time user, you will be creating a new playlist. New playlist - skip to step 4. The page will
ask for your new playlist name when you go to save.
- If you are a returning broadcaster, you can create a new one, or edit an existing one.
- The music that appears in your playlist is what your listeners will hear.
- The songs will play from the top of the playlist to the bottom.
- You can change or edit this playlist whenever you want.
- Here are basic instructions on how to create a playlist:
- In the second section, select a song in the left-hand online MP3 collection and then click the "add"
button to move your tracks from into your playlist.
- To arrange the order of songs in your playlist, use the "UP," "DOWN," and "DELETE" buttons.
- To randomize your songs, click once on the "RANDOM" button. You MP3 files will now appear in an
entirely new order.
- Studio365 will play your tracks in the order you have selected in your playlist... from top to bottom
and then back at the top, looping. If you would like your songs played in a different order each time the playlist
is loops, then check the shuffle box and songs within that playlist will be played in a random order.
- Use the "Playlist Analyzer" page to double check that all of your files are at a compatible bitrate,
frequency, and mode (stereo/mono). The songs in your playlist must be compatible with your Minimum Connection Speed in your
Broadcast Information.
- Check to make sure your playlist complies with the Rules of Broadcasting.
- When you are finished, make sure to SAVE your playlist. If it is a new playlist, you will then be prompted to provide a new Playlist name.
Please review our Rules and other helpful Legal Info.
Once your Playlist is saved, you will automatically be taken to the "Playlist Analyzer" section at the bottom of the Playlist page.
Click the "Playlist Analyzer" button to check your playlist for any errors before broadcasting. It will point out any inconsistencies
in your track bitrates and allow you to edit your ID3 tags.
Now that your Playlist is saved and you've checked it with the Playlist Analyzer, you're ready to broadcast!
To cue playlists or to start/stop/restart your station, go to the "Controls" page. To get to the "Controls" page, click on the
"Edit" link in the subnav. Then click on the "Controls" tab. Go to the Controls page directly.
If your station is currently off, you can start your broadcasting using the Playlist you just created (or select a different one
from the Playlist drop-down menu). Push the "Start Broadcast" or "Restart Broadcast" button.
If you are already broadcasting, you can either choose to cue your edited/new Playlist after the current playlist finishes
(Cue after Playlist) or you may cue your Playlist after the current track is done (Cue After track). Both of these cue functions
happen without dropping listeners from your station.
If for any reason you would like to stop your broadcast (dropping all listeners), you may press the "Stop Broadcast" button.
Congratulations on becoming a Live365 Broadcaster!
