Step 5: Plug in the Music and Broadcast!
(Step 1 2 3 4 5)

Now that you're connected, any audio file that you play in Winamp will broadcast live. So, the final step is to plug the music or other audio to start broadcasting. Follow the instructions based on the audio you're planning to broadcast.

MP3 Files

To play your MP3 files, you can click and drag them into the "Winamp Playlist". To do this, first find the folder(s) containing your MP3 files. Then either click and drag the entire folder into the playlist window or open your MP3 folder and select individual MP3s and drag each file into the playlist window. Either way, you can always edit the playlist by right clicking on the song and removing it. The order of the playlist can be manipulated by clicking once on the song and moving it where you want it in the sequence.

Now the most important step – play the first song by double clicking it or right clicking it and selecting "Play". Winamp will then run through the entire playlist. If you want to end your broadcast, just close Winamp.

Now that you're broadcasting you can check it out on Live365.com. Find the genre section you selected when configuring Winamp and look for the description you chose (i.e. the name of your stream). If it's not there, click 'Refresh' on your browser and wait a few seconds. It may take a moment to see it up on the directory.

Playing Live Audio

To broadcast audio from your line-in jack (in other words, you're either talking, singing or playing into a microphone or mixing live), you have to:

1. Start Winamp, and press Control-L to open the Play Location dialog box.

Enter "linerec://" in this box (as shown). It may take a moment for you station to show up in the directory.

2. Enter the URL linerec:// into the dialog box and click the "Open" button.

Winamp will then display the message LINE RECORDING, which means that it is now playing the audio from your computer's line-in jack.

If you've already connected to the Live365.com audio server (as shown in Step 4), then you're now streaming live audio over the Internet using Live365.com! Don't worry if you don't see any activity in the graphic equailizer (i.e. the little lines that move up and down) it is working and you're still broadcasting. To end your broadcast, push the Stop button on the Winamp controls.
