While listening to a broadcast, why do I hear a lot of stuttering or skipping in the audio?

Try one of these solutions:

  1. Be sure that you're listening at the correct bandwidth for your Internet connection (e.g. Don't try to listen to Cable/DSL broadcasts on a 56k modem!)
  2. Sometimes increasing the buffer size will help stuttering. If you use Winamp, hit Control-P for Prefs, select Plug-ins->Input, then select the "Nullsoft MPEG audio decoder plug-in", and hit Configure. Select the Streaming tab of the window, and try increasing the Streaming buffer sliders.
  3. The stuttering could be a problem with the connection between your ISP and our servers. Advanced users, you can traceroute programs to test your Internet connection:

    PC: Visual Route

    Mac: IPNetMonitor

If packet loss is occuring at Exodus or Level 3 Communications, please send a copy of the output to support@live365.com. If the problem is anywhere else, contact your ISP for assistance.
