Configuring Internet Explorer For Live365
You need to configure your browser so it'll send Live365 internet radio broadcasts to your audio player.

We recommend that you read these instructions through thoroughly before beginning.

Step 1: Make sure you have a streaming MP3 audio player

You need a streaming MP3 audio player to listen to Live365. A number of players are available:

Apple iTunes - info - install - recommended
MACAST - info - install
RealPlayer 8 - info & install

Step 2: Make sure you have Internet Explorer 4.5 or higher

To find out what version you currently have on your computer, click on the Apple menu, and select About Internet Explorer.

You can upgrade your Internet Explorer on Microsoft's Mac internet page.

Step 3: Configure Internet Explorer to recognize your audio player

1. Select Preferences from the Edit menu. The following window will appear:

2. Locate Receiving Files on the lower left side of the window

3. Look under Receiving Files and select File Helpers

4. Click on the Add button. This will open the Edit File Helper window.

1. Find Representation at the top of the window. Enter the following information:

  1. Description: mp3 stream
  2. Extension: pls m3u
  3. MIME type: audio/x-scpls

2. Find the File Type section.

3. Look for Encoding. Under Encoding, make sure:

  1. Binary Data is selected (this will unselect Plain Text)
  2. Macintosh File is unchecked
  3. Use for incoming is checked
  4. Use for outgoing is checked

4. Still in the File Type section, click Browse. This will open a standard file window:

5. Locate and open your audio player (iTunes in this example).

6. Back again in the Edit File Helper window, in the File Type section, find the File Type menu and select PLS (PLAY and Plst also work).

7. Now find the Handling section.

8. Make sure Post-Process with Application is selected on the How to handle menu.

9. Make sure your audio player is shown now in this section as well as the File Type section. If it is not, click Browse here and select it.

10. Your settings should now look like this (but with your audio player instead of iTunes):

You're all done! Click OK on the Edit File Helper window and again on the Preferences window.
