We recommend that you read these instructions through thoroughly before beginning.
Important Note: Live365 does not support Netscape 6.
To find out what version you currently have on your computer, click on the
menu, and select About Communicator (or About Netscape Navigator).
You can upgrade your Navagator by visiting Netscape's Download Area.
1. Select Preferences from the Edit menu. The following window will appear:
2. Find the Category panel on the left side of the window.
3. Under Category, find Navigator.
4. Under Navigator, select Applications.
5. Now, click on the New button. This will open the Edit Type window.
1. At the top of the window, enter the following information:
a. Description: mp3 stream
b. MIME Type: audio/x-scpls
c. Suffixes: pls m3u
2. Next on the Edit Type page, find the Handled by section.
3. Select the Application button.
4. Now click the Choose button. This will open a standard file window:
5. Locate and open your audio player (iTunes in this example).
6. Back again in the Edit Type window, find the File Info section.
7. Under File Info, find the File Type menu and select PLS (PLAY and Plst also work).
8. Make sure Macintosh File is unchecked.
9. Make sure Use this MIME type for outgoing attachments is checked.
10. Your settings should now look like this (but with your audio player instead of iTunes):
You're all done! Click OK on the Edit Type window and again on the Preferences window.
Note: If you receive an error message that says "The specified MIME type already exists," follow these instructions.
