The Update window will let you change various program or station properties.
- Title (text box) - The Title is a short name for your broadcast, limited to 22 characters.
- Description (text box) - The Description will let you tell your potential users more about your broadcast and what to expect.
- Keywords (text box) - To help people find your broadcast you can supply additional Keywords such as specific artist names or topics.
- Both the Description and Keywords are displayed only for those who have purchased advanced broadcaster packages.
- URL (text box) - If you have your own web site for your broadcast, supply the URL here.
- Min Connection (drop-down menu) - Choice of T1/DSL/ISDN/Cable, 56K modem, 33K modem, 28K modem. Select the one which you think is best suited for your audience. The higher the required minimum connection, the better quality your listeners should hear, but at the cost of requiring a higher speed Internet connection which may limit the size of your audience. The value you select is what is shown in the "Speed" column on the directory page.
- Connection of T1/DSL/ISDN/Cable, quality selection is: 56Kbps (stereo), 32Kbps (stereo), 24Kbps (mono), 16Kbps (mono).
- Connection of 56K modem, quality selection is: Choice of 32Kbps (stereo), 24Kbps (mono), 16Kbps (mono).
- Connection of 33K modem, quality selection is: Choice of 24Kbps (mono), 16Kbps (mono).
- Connection of 28K modem, quality selection is: only 16Kbps (mono) available.
- Upload Bitrate (drop-down menu) - Choice of your upload bitrate. This is the rate that your tracks will be converted to when you import them. The common setting should be set to match your Min. Connection setting in the above menu. That is, if your Min. Connection is set to "T1/DSL", which permits "56K" broadcasts, you should set your Upload Bitrate to "56 Kbps." You are free to upload tracks of varying speeds if you want to do playlists of differing formats (note that you cannot mix formats in a single playlist however).
- Genres 1,2,3 (drop-down menu) - menus to identify type of music styles being broadcast. At least one must be selected.
- Stereo/Mono (radio buttons) - selects whether you want your tracks to be converted to stereo or mono. Mono tracks cannot be converted to stereo, but stereo tracks can go to mono. Some upload formats may permit only one of these settings.
