Upload tracks to your Online Track Library

Before you can use any tracks in your broadcast, they must be uploaded to your account on the Live365 servers. MP3 files must be optimized for specific kinds of broadcasts, so they will be reconverted if necessary (not all files can be reconverted, expect problems with mono files in a stereo broadcast). On slower machines this can take some time, but Studio365 will "batch convert", and upload many files at once, hands off. Feel free to run it during the day when you are at work.

You will create the playlist using the Studio365 (Windows®).

  1. From the Track drop-down menu, select Upload to Online Track Library.... The Load window will appear.

  2. Select the file or files that you would like to upload and click Open. You can also select a PLS or M3U file and Studio365 (Windows®) will upload all the files in that playlist (but not the playlist itself). The file processing window will appear, showing the status of the tracks you have chosen to upload as seen below:

    File Processing Window

  3. Clicking Skip will abort the conversion/upload of the track in progress and, if there are more files to process, will proceed to the next track. Clicking Cancel will abort the current and remaining tracks.

  4. When the process is done, an alert window will tell you how many files were successfully uploaded. Click OK to continue.

You will notice that all the files you have chosen to upload will show up in the Online Track Library immediately. Blue files are those being converted; green listings are those in the process of being uploaded (note that not all files need to be converted). Files may be added to your playlist at once, and in fact, the playlist may be used before all of the files are ready without harm, incomplete tracks will simply be skipped over until they are done. This greatly reduces the time needed to both upload files and prepare the playlist.
