Hollywood Reporter.com Nothing, Live365 team for streaming Nothing records announced the launch of radio nothing, a six-channel streaming Internet radio station powered by Internet radio provider Live365.com's technology. The programming will focus on nothing records' catalog, which includes such artists as Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson and Clint Mansell (composer of the "Requiem for a Dream" soundtrack), and will feature exclusive material such as Internet-only tracks, demos, works-in-progress and sneak previews of upcoming major releases. Concert webcasts and live broadcasts featuring nothing artists as DJs are planned to begin in the near future, and it is expected that more channels will be added. "This is the wave of the future for promoting music and getting it out to the public without going through the middleman of traditional radio," said Alan Wallace, Vice President of Marketing. "You simply will not find this on commercial radio." Wallace also pointed out that the delivery method should allay any concerns about file sharing. "Streaming media, like traditional radio, is a great way to hear new music and old favorites without taking up space on your hard drive," he said. All channels can be accessed via the official nothingrecords.com Web site, radionothing.com and Live365.com This represents the first time Live365.com has created a branded player for a record label. "Radio is one of the sticky applications of the Web," Wallace said. "Nothing records certainly recognizes that." radio nothing's initial playlists will be updated frequently and the number of playlists will expand and evolve. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, though Wallace did say that it was a departure from Live365's standard Private Label Radio initiative fee structure. Trent Reznor, co-owner of nothing records and key member of Nine Inch Nails, said in a statement: "Radio nothing offers fans radio created directly from the source. It's a new playing field, a place where I can experiment and showcase new and previously unheard material from Nine Inch Nails as well as my current favorites from both the nothing catalog and beyond."
