How to sign up for the X5000?

1. To initiate your X5000 filing process, send a note to X5000@live365.com, with the words “X5000 Registration” in the subject line, indicating which username you'd like to upgrade to X5000. If you have a Live365 station and intend to change genres, please indicate that in your email, too.
   
   
2. Unless you have received an invitation from Live365 offering you the chance to apply to the X5000 broadcasting package on a pre-selection basis, be sure to seek Live365's prior approval of your application to the X5000 before you proceed with your registration processes with the U.S. Copyright Office and SoundExchange, as explained in #3 below.
   
   
3. Minimum fee:
   

   Under the Term Sheet For Small Commercial Webcasters, the SCW has a $2,000.00 annual minimum applicable to SoundExchange members.

   For non-Soundexchange members, the CRB rates apply with an annual minimum of $500.00 per channel or station, although if you pay the $2,000.00 minimum under the above-mentioned SCW Term Sheet, you don't have to also pay the $500.00 per channel minimum.
   
   

4. Download, complete, sign and mail the below forms to U.S. Copyright Office and SoundExchange, respectively:
   
   
   • New X5000 broadcasters
     
     a. U.S. Copyright Office: Notice of Use of Sound Recordings Under Statutory License
     Important: Enclose a check or money order for the nonrefundable $20 filing fee, payable to “Register of Copyrights.”
     
     b. SoundExchange:
     Your notice of election to pay royalties as a Small Commercial Webcaster or as a webcaster of other categories established by SoundExchange (Visit SoundExchange for more info)
     
     
   • Renewing X5000 broadcasters
     
     a. SoundExchange:
     Your notice of election to pay royalties as a Small Commercial Webcaster or as a webcaster of other categories established by SoundExchange (Visit SoundExchange for more info)
     Note: Renewing X5000 subscribers do not need to submit any form to U.S. Copyright Office.
     
     
   • Sample Forms:
     
     a. Sample Notice of Use of Sound Recordings Under Statutory License
     
     
5. Upon receipt of your email inquiry, Live365 will send you two forms for you to complete:
   
   
   • “Proof of Certification and Licensing to Use Copyrighted Works and Materials in Digital Transmissions of Sound Recordings”; and
     
     
   • “Contract for X5000 Services.”
     
     
6. Fax or mail each of these completed and signed forms to Live365:
   
   
   • Proof of Certification and Licensing to Use Copyrighted Works and Materials in Digital Transmissions of Sound Recordings (that we sent you in #3 above);
     
     
   • Contract for X5000 Services (also from #3 above);
     
     
   • Notice of Use of Sound Recordings Under Statutory License (#2 above for new X5000 subscribers only); and
     
     
   • Notice of Election to Pay Royalties as a Small Commercial Webcaster, or any other non-small-webcaster SoundExchange forms (also from #2 above).

7. Upon receipt of your fax or posted mail, we will activate or set your station to the X5000 package and send you a confirmation email.
