What Format/Codec Does Live365 utilize?Live365 utilizes the universally accepted MP3 streaming format. This format allows your broadcast to be accessible by virtually any media player that your listeners would have on their computer. Whether it is Windows Media Player, iTunes, Real Audio, Winamp or Live365's own Player365, listeners will be able to quickly and easily listen to your station. How about the audio quality of Live365 stations?Our clients have the ability to choose one or more bitrates (quality level) for their broadcast. Depending on your listeners, you may select either 16kbps, 24kbps or 32kbps for your dial-up AND broadband listeners or choose a bitrate between 56kbps and 192kbps for ONLY broadband listeners. Basically, any bitrate you choose for your station above 32kbps will only be accessible to those listeners with a DSL, Cable, T1 or other broadband connection.
