What Format/Codec Does Live365 utilize?

Live365 utilizes the universally accepted MP3 streaming format. This format allows your broadcast to be accessible by virtually any media player that your listeners would have on their computer. Whether it is Windows Media Player, iTunes, Real Audio, Winamp or Live365's own Player365, listeners will be able to quickly and easily listen to your station.
 

How about the audio quality of Live365 stations?

Our clients have the ability to choose one or more bitrates (quality level) for their broadcast. Depending on your listeners, you may select either 16kbps, 24kbps or 32kbps for your dial-up AND broadband listeners or choose a bitrate between 56kbps and 192kbps for ONLY broadband listeners. Basically, any bitrate you choose for your station above 32kbps will only be accessible to those listeners with a DSL, Cable, T1 or other broadband connection. Depending on your budget, you can choose:

1. to set up one bitrate to reach all listeners - our suggestion is either 24 or 32kbps (AM type quality)
2. to set up one bitrate to reach only broadband listeners - our suggestion is 128kbps (near CD quality). Additional fees apply.
3. to set up two separate bitrates where one would reach dialup listeners (24 or 32kbps) and the other would reach broadband listeners (128kbps) (Back)

What is MP3PRO?

MP3PRO is a variation of the standard MP3 format which allows you to increase the quality level of our regular MP3 broadcast at the same bitrate. Live365 makes MP3PRO technology available on most broadcast types at no additional charge. (Back)

Create a live broadcast from your computer in minutes. You can broadcast live to the world: speeches, sermons, sporting events, musical selections, or anything else you can think of. Simply connect a microphone, soundboard or sound system to your computer (don't forget a broadband Internet connection - DSL, Cable, T1 etc.) and go. (Back)

Studio365-Basic (Packaged with Studio365-Live)

Create maintenance free broadcasts by uploading and storing your audio content on the Live365 servers. Once you've uploaded your audio content, you no longer need to be online to have your station up and running, making Studio365 the simplest and most popular broadcasting solution. Relay Your Broadcast via Live365' Network (Stand-alone service)

Take your current MP3 Internet broadcast and relay that broadcast to more listeners via Live365's world's largest Internet radio directory. You can either supply an IP Address and Port Number for us to pull your current broadcast or choose to use a Live365-compatible broadcasting software piece and push your station to us. (Back)

On-Demand Audio (Stand alone service - Sold Separately)

This solution allows you to offer archived content (programs, speeches, announcements, interviews, and more) to listeners on an "as demanded" basis, so your listeners can listen to this content from the beginning of each audio track or recording.
