Hi and welcome to the Life Melodic at Tess's Indie-Wave! If you're a lover of modern and classic new wave & indie music, then chances are you've found me. I also love horror cinema (and all cinema in general), rollercoasters, storm-chasing & performing music. I update my playlist every Monday, so tune in then for great new songs. Rock on!
Favorite Artists
The Cure
Robert Smith is quite possibly the most eloquent songwriter - lyrically & melodically - of our time.
Cranes
This group has mastered the art of ambient dream-pop with ethereal, little-girl vocals.
Magnetic Fields
Stephin Merritt is a prolific goth-pop God. Also check out The 6ths, Gothic Archies & Future Bible Heroes - THREE other bands he's involved with - all sublime.
The Cult
When I want to hear pure un-adulterated rock & roll, I always go with these guys. They are charismatic, spiritual, and damned sexy!
Blue October
Not to be confused with the UK synthpop band of the same name, these guys hail from Texas and present incredible depth and emotion in their beautifully crafted indie-pop songs. Not to be missed.

Disintegration
If I HAD to pick one from their vast catalogue - it would be this one. Beautifully morose, it's the perfect album to spin on a rainy Sunday afternoon.
Cranes

Loved
Features two of their best songs - "Shining Road" & "Beautiful Friend". A must have.
The Cult
-
Pure Cult
I'd have to go with a "Best Of" disc with these guys to maximize my listening pleasure.
Fleetwood Mac
-
Tusk
Underappreciated, underrated, & deemed a failure by critics because it didn't sell as well as the uber-radio friendly "Rumours", this album by the Brit/Cali rock legends feature their most creative and challenging work. Forget "Rumours" - this is Fleetwood Mac at their best.
The Beatles
-
Let It Be
This is the album that first turned me on to the Fab-Four. I love it still.
