Formats are for suckers -- or at least for those who think that music should only come in a couple of flavors.
For me, the beauty of music is it's diversity and richness as it changes over time and from place to place on the planet. It doesn't matter if it's "Rock" or "Electronic" or "International" or "Country" (who's country, anyway?). If it's good, it's good, and I want people to hear it...and I want them to hear it side by side with either complimentary or contrasting examples. How did guitar rock change from the 60s through the 90s? What did the Japanese interpretation of psychedelic music sound like? What were different musicians doing in 1972? What did 'electronic music' mean in 1958?
You're going to hear a lot of stuff you've heard before, and you'll probably hear a lot more that you haven't...and in all likelyhood you'll hear things you hope you'll never hear again.
But it's out there, it's music, it's beautiful...and it's right here on Radio Fragments.
