canuckteach is a Canadian Computer (and French) Teacher, Blues player and jazz collector who specializes in *where* jazz can be found on the Web (check out my Tripod site).
lover of jazz from the 1920's thru the swing age and post-Big Band era, but I've assembled some great stuff from recent decades so that I could hear a foot-tappin mixes any old time..! Feedback is welcomed ..

Collectors Item-made in the mid-50's..first class small group swing.. huge solo work by Satch, Trummy Young, and Barney Bigard.. re-issue in 2000 adds some old Fats 'cuts' by Satch (from the 30's)

Armstrong Plays WC Handy Re-issue - Louis Armstrong & All Stars
classic sessions by the All Stars with a blind WC Handy (not long before his death) sitting in on the arrangements & talking with Avakian.. sweet vocals by Velma.. solid support work by the small ensemble.. light-hearted..

Duke at Newport 1956 Re-Issue - Duke Ellington
It rocked the foundations of jazz.. Paul Gonsalves' 27 chorus solo in the Diminuendo.. what else can you say?

All The Cats Join In - Randy Sandke
import CD from Germany.. with Randy and some of the best players in the World.. a tribute to Buck Clayton.. has to be heard to be believed..
