Qvo gente! My name is Dulce "DeeLady" Dee Sweet Soulful Lady ;)I want to take the time and opportunity to thank all my loyal listeners. I am very happy and blessed having you tuned in with me and sharing a piece of me with you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, I have nothing but love for you all!
I have had my station up for over three years now and all out of a simple hobby inspired by similar DJ's. I obtained a large collection of my own and wanted to share the music with those that have the same heart and soul for these soul gems. With my station, I have connected with many like minded individuals with whom together we have become a "Soulero Familia" Soulero, meaning deep hearted soul lover/collector.
PD Soundz along with Soulero Ball Revue, (a collective of collectors and soul enthusiasts), have put together shows known as, "Soulero Ball" These shows have been incorporated into the low rider scene. A Soulero is an identity within our Chicano Cultura, bringing the rarity of soul sounds being spun straght from vinyl. Just like a classic all original low rider car can be appreciated for its rarity and originality, on the same token a rare 45 record holds the similar value.
Mind you, Soulero Ball's begun before PD Soundz began collaboration with these shows. The first and orignal "Soulero's Ball" took place one summer afternoon of 2009 in San Jose. The show was a CD release for the Soul Strivers, soul collectors, "Gangster Dedications" The show was presented by Soulero Ball Revue and San Jo Soul (a local SJ Oldies Radio Show)The event was a success and Jose Valle, "Homeboy Mad" (Founder, CEO of Soulero Ball Revue)decided to carry shows over to the following year beginning Summer of 2010 with a series of 3 shows that year. This is when PD Soundz became involved and when Soulero movement began.
Now, to clear things up a bit.....no one is trying to take credit for this movement. There are record collectors throughout the world who have been collecting for years, but I will state that it was in Northern Cali where the shows began and inspired others to carry out similar shows starting in San Jose to San Francisco, to LA area. This movement has spread out throughout the world and there have been enthusiasts and collectors from different states and even countries attending these events.
I must say that I am very proud and humbled to be part of this movement. I have been to Soulero Shows down in LA area and its an awesome experience to meet other collectors who share a similar passion. I feel blessed to be accepted and welcomed with open arms at these events. As a matter of fact it feels more than just a blessing, it is an unimaginable dream coming true. Who would have ever thought? I mean I never believed that with my involvement and input in these shows I would be where I am now.
I am an entrepeneur with many different skills and doors for opportunity, but this here is my heart and I've actually made a career out of it. Never intended or planned..so what does that make it? MEANT TO BE!! I have hosted shows and events in SJ to LA. I've been the host for Mr. Brenton Wood, The Younghearts, Joe Bataan, Soulero Shows, Car Shows, and many more! That is just part of it. As a young soulera I always collected different compilations, and now here I am part of the show along with these great collectors that have been putting these rarities on the map with their compilations. Like I said never imagined, but here it is!
Why do I hold my music so close at heart? Well simply because it is part of my life...it's a love story. "La Rola Nunca Me A Dejado Sola" With the rola, song, I have never been lonely..why? because it has been the music that has comforted me wether Im happy, sad, mad...doesn't matter because shes always there for me..and that's a true story!
Shout outs to all who have been along this ride with me. Not enough room to name all but you know who you are..thanks for all the love, respect and support!
~Love Always~ |
