Art Of Noise
An old school group from London. Most of their electronic beats have been sampled by others. The only group that Prince allowed to use his music. Art Of Noise also featured Duane Eddy and Tom Jones, who did Kiss, by Prince. Beat Box is their most famous song, with Moments In Love also.
Kraftwerk
A group from Germany. Most of their stuff has been sampled. They were the pioneers in Electronic Music and Beats.
Tower Of Power
Horns, bring the horns, and plenty of them. Check out their song "What is Hip?" If it's truly hip, the passing years will show. Well, they are truly hip.
James Brown
. . . and any of his band members, like: Fred Wesley, and The Horny Horns, The JBs, Bobby Byrd, Maceo Parker. I particularly like the James Brown And The Famous Flames instrumentals. Maceo! Bring the horns!
