Founded in 1997, free103point9 is a non-profit transmission arts organization based in New York City. free103point9 began as a microradio station and evolved into an advocate for transmission artists. free103point9 Online Radio features New York-based and international performers of sound art, free jazz, noise, avant folk, electronic music, turntablism, mash-up, and other forms. The station has featured events including performances from Sightings; Thurston Moore; Gold Sparkle Band; Animal Collective; No-Neck Blues Band, Daniel Carter; Cooper-Moore; Cory Arcangel; I-Sound; Japanther; Nautical Almanac, Gregory Whitehead; Broklyn Beats; Scanner; and many others.
