Mickey Ashworth is a veteran radio announcer, music director, and programmer. His 40 year career includes positions in Beaumont, Tx., Tyler, Tx., San Antonio, Tx., Dallas, Tx., Kansas City, Mo., and Providence, R.I. As a corporate programmer his resume also includes involvement with stations in Laredo, Tx., Austin, Tx., Baton Rouge, La., and Tulsa, Okla.
Mickey's music tastes are varied, however he has a special affinity for Country Music. A fan of the current Nashville sound, but also a strong proponent that the stars of Country Music's past should not be forgotten. The visceral quality of the lyrics are the same, only the production values have changed. Let's enjoy and celebrate Country Music...past and present!
Since launching his creative and community-oriented "King of the Road Show" on an Oklahoma radio station in 1996,Jim King, a.k.a. Jim King of the Road, has won many fans and received numerous honors from his peers in the broadcasting industry. Jim's career, now in its 26th year, has taken him to winning radio stations in California, Texas and Oklahoma. King is also host, producer & editor of the "King of the Road Show" - an entertainment-based, local TV program,airing twice weekly on Beaumont's Fox 4 KBTV. In addition, "King of the Road" is a popular local newspaper/magazine columnist and photographer. Look for his column, "Cruisin' SETX with Jim King," in Getaway Magazine.
