Favorite Artists

Alan Silvestri
Back To The Future's music has left its mark, the music being part of what made the trilogy so memorable, all thanks to this man.

John Williams
Star Wars, Jaws, Indiana Jones, Close Encounters, Harry Potter--is there any film this man HASN'T improved?

Jerry Goldsmith
Total Recall and Star Trek are but only two films out of this man's massive catalogue, and impressive they are!

Howard Shore
Much like Alan Silvestri, Shore made Jackson's LOTR trilogy all the more memorable with an amazing soundtrack.

David Newman
I may only know him for Galaxy Quest and Serenity, but those soundtracks were amazing - especially the effort brought in for GQ's soundtrack!

Favorite Albums

Daft Punk - TRON Legacy
The film's plot may have been weak, but this was more than made up for with the effects and music creating an AMAZING world.

Alan Silvestri - Back To The Future Part II
Stretching his abilities, now Alan had to score three different time periods, but keep a unified pattern too. (And stepped up his game for Part Three even further!)

Jerry Goldsmith - Star Trek First Contact
Not his last Star Trek soundtrack, but in my heart, the strongest from the TNG era.

Basil Poledouris - Robocop
Mixing orchestral with synth, Basil dared to mix what was thought to be unmixable to create a unique score reflecting Alex Murphy's man-machine hybrid.

Don Davis - The Matrix
The sequels may have pushed the trilogy's score too far, but this was the amazing start with Davis' amazing sounds for the two worlds. (And the whistling sound? Two metal mixing bowls welded together, lengths of wire around the edge, the wires rubbed with a bow slowly all the way around, metal piping in one bowl's bottom to release the eerie sound.)
