Born and raised on the North Shore, I worked in my teens at WNTH, New Trier High School's then 10-watt educational FM station, before graduating in 1965. I stayed in broadcasting for more than 35 years, owning and operating radio and television interests in downstate Illinois. My parents, Ken and Pat Bro, raised six children and lived for more than 40 years at 375 Sheridan Road, in Winnetka. After a bout with cancer in the late 1980s, I retired from broadcasting to lead the Evanston-based charity that serves more than 70,000 others who are dealing with renal cancers, the Kidney Cancer Association (KidneyCancer.org).
It's my hope that you will enjoy the music of the 1950s and 1960s, along with some lighthearted commentary and occasional interviews with Winnetka's community leaders. Yes, we do play requests. Email me to let me know what you'd like to hear at BBro@WinnetkaRadio.com. |
