What's up everybody. As you can see, I go by H.E.R. Lover. It's taken from Common's classic song "I Used to Love H.E.R." where he talks about his relationship to hip hop. I'm not gonna go into the whole thing. If you don't know what I'm talking about, either Google it or check out my blog at http://www.straightouttahiphop.com where I discussed the whole thing. Anyway, I created this because too often radio stations stop playing songs because they're not "hot" anymore, but these songs are classics that everybody loves. However, I wanted to create something that allowed people to go back to the times that these songs came out, so the songs your going to hear are no less than 10 years old. I really love this music, and I want people to not only continue to make quality music, but remember all of those songs from the past that have gotten us to this point. So, I hope you enjoy. New songs (meaning songs that aren't already on the playlists that are at least 10 years old) will continue to be added. And at the first of every year, songs will be added that have hit the 10 year mark. So enjoy and reminisce about the time when hip hop was on top of its game and you young folks can learn a thing or two about the music you claim to love and want to go into.
Favorite Artists

Ice Cube
He spoke so much truth through his lyrics, yet struck fear in those that didn't understand the music because of the gangsta persona.

Tupac
Do I even need to say anything. The best to ever do it, in my opinion. He touched on every subject through his music and touched so many.

Jay-Z
His lyrics are phenomenal and his flow is matched by very few. He has changed the game forever.

Nas
He continues to re-create himself, yet be himself at the same time. His last two albums (Hip Hop Is Dead, Untitled) were things we would expect only from Nas, yet it was new to hip hop.

Outkast
They put Atlanta on their back and have pushed the musical boundaries far beyond what anybody else has. Andre 3000 is one of the best to ever do it, and Big Boi is not far behind. They have not done wrong yet.
