ohm started about 6 years ago when we decided to step into making music and mixing instead of just listening to it.
gh0st has been spinning records since the late 80's, house, electro, trance and so on. he has done brief stints on university radio, several clubs, house parties and small special events. back in the mid 90's, gh0st helped a close friend Den, with starting a record pool for northern ontario. this record pool was named 'upNorth record pool' ran out of sudbury ontario of all places. it was an important and vital step in bringing electronic music to northern ontario. supported by a mix of well talented djs spanning several cities, the pool survived with some success until gh0st and Den parted ways due to many changes in their lives. Several years later gh0st and Den reunited when the found out they were both living in ottawa. they resumed doing club gigs when they could find the time from their non-musical careers. eventually the careers took over and gh0st and Den parted ways once more.
dr1ft met up with gh0st in around the summer of y2k. the love for electronic music set things in a different direction for both of them. after attending several large events over the years dr1ft always wanted to try his hand at mixing tracks. bit by bit equipment was acquirred and a new learning process began for both of them. they started the learning process of producing tracks as well as trying their hands at mixing. as Den did with gh0st several years earlier, gh0st was able to facilitate their ability to start mixing as well as eventually producing their own material.
from gh0st: club gigs are a thing of the past for us now that we all have full time careers, however we still mix in our spare time when we can get together as well as trying out new ideas for new tracks. love what you do first and don't worry about the money of what others think. it's selfish in a way, but we do it because we like it, if others do to, then welcome and come along for the ride!
