Hey Everyone! Thank You so much for tuning in to Smooth Wave Jazz!! My Name is David Gonzalez, I'm 17 years old and will probably be the youngest radio station owner that has ever lived! haha My passion..., Smooth Jazz, the soothing and relaxing part of your day,... the modernized R&B with a little bit of Jazz! I was always the athletic kid since I was about 4 years old. Basketball, Baseball, you name it. My main sport... Basketball! I played ever since I was a 3 year old little boy. I had a passion. But all of that was lost in September of 2009, when I lost the love and just didnt feel like playing basketball anymore, and left the game at the beginning of my Junior Year in High School. It was a huge shock for all of my family and friends, they had no idea what was going on with me. I decided to do something with my life, rather than just the ol' basketball and school routine, and went to the music/radio business. I have music/radio in my blood; My Dad being in Radio since he was 16, and now one of the most respected men in radio today being in Corporate today. My older brother who has been in music since his early teenage years, and is now a DJ in Corpus Christi, Texas. I always wanted to be an entrepreneur, and wow here I am! Opening up my first business and first ever Smooth Jazz radio station. Smooth Jazz has gone under the radar over the past decade, and my job is to get it back where it was in the 90's. Getting teens into the genre, and also developing and discovering new artists in the High School System. I am not doing this just for fun, or for the fame, I am doing this in attempt to save the genre itself. I am so humbled to be already known all over the world and to know that I am raising eye brows with this project of mine, especially with my age! My next dream.... taking this radio station up to a very high level. Hopefully up there next to Jimi King's Sky Smooth Jazz, but we all know Sky Smooth Jazz is the best and will never be topped! So there is my story pretty much... I guess you can call me the young Wayman Tisdale. Going from Basketball to Smooth Jazz!! R.I.P Wayman!
