Scott Winterroth is the editor of CountryMusicChicago.com, Chicago's independent resource for all things country music.

What started with a borrowed Garth Brooks Greatest Hits album in the early '90s has escalated into an outright obsession of country music for Scott. In early 2008, looking for a way to share his love and passion with others, he created CountryMusicChicago.com.

Today, Country Music Chicago is stronger than ever as the CMC team strives to better organize the local scene, promote local talent and help Chicago become the premier country music destination outside the city of Nashville.

Scott is a life-long Chicagoland resident and currently resides in Chicago’s Lincoln Square neighborhood. He can be reached at scott@countrymusicchicago.com or (773) 828-9330.

Favorite Artists

Sugarland
Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush are quite possibly my favorite group of all time.

Lady Antebellum
Newest group of this listing. Dave, Hillary and Charles are awesome and their ability to reach an audience outside of the genre, while still staying somewhat country, is truly amazing.

Kenny Chesney
Kenny Chesney will always have a special place in my heart. His older hits remind me an important time of my life.

Miranda Lambert
I feel like I've watched Miranda grow up and even from the early years I really enjoyed her music.

Garth Brooks
Garth is like my father of country music. He's the reason I'm here today....

Favorite Albums

Sugarland - Love on the Inside
I feel this album really reflects Sugarland artistic ability and viability as one of Country's best duos of all time. “Love On The Inside” will always be one of my favorite albums.

Brad Paisley - American Saturday Night
One of my newest favorite albums. It still resides in my car's cd player.

Garth Brooks - Greatest Hits
This is the album that started it all for me.

Jamey Johnson - That Lonesome Song
Jamey Johnson is so raw and his music feels so real to me.

Rascal Flatts - Feels Like Today
The Flatts boys have produced some great albums since, but this album will always be my 1 RF album.
