Dave Austin
Hi...My name is Dave Austin...You can visit www.80shitmachine.com The 80's Hit Machine went on the air on November 24, 2004. This is the place to be to hear what 80's Top 40 radio used to sound like. You always hear at least 10 in a row with no commercials. I have some of the greatest personalities from the 80's like Gary Spears, Danny Wright, Big Ron O'Brien (On The Radio Show), John Leader (Countdown America) and Joel Denver.(Future Hits) The jingles on my station are from JAM Jingles; The voice of the 80's Hit Machine is Mitch Craig. I also play the best 80's music. I have some rare radio station only songs from Roxette, Prince, Milli Vanilli, just to name a few, that you won't hear on any other station.
How I got the "Radio Bug"
When I was 12, I would listen to AM radio at night and I use to tune into WABC in NYC and WKBW in Buffalo.. and thought it was the coolest job having fun on the radio..There was this "magic" back then that go me into Radio.. In 1978, I got my first Heathkit Mono Console (which I built myself) with 2 turntables and a Mic and I would play DJ.. ....I would call, visit the DJ's at the stations and made some great friends. I got my first paying job in 1986 at a country radio station running satellite programs. After loooooooong hours and hard work, I moved up to bigger and better stations.. I worked in Denver, Atlanta, Wash, D.C. and some smaller markets...I was in the radio business for about 10 years...
I decided to get out and pursue other interests. I am currently in the EMS field in South Florida...
I hope you enjoy the station!! Please e-mail me with your suggestions, I would love to hear from you. E-Mail: daveaustin@80shitmachine.com
