Tambet Schütz, Program Director, was born into a musical background and raised in Estonia. Both his father and grandfather were consummate musicians playing in The Estonia Theatre Orchestra and performing frequently with the National Symphony Orchestra. His mother is a professional pianist and teaches piano at the well-known and respected Nõmme Music School. Estonia greatly values chorale singing and many fine choruses thrive there. Schütz has always had a particular fondness for choral music.
Schütz plans to broadcast new choral music from cultures world-wide, both from famous sources and also yet-undiscovered artists and choirs. Schütz studied piano in youth music school, choir conducting in Georg Ots Music School, and non-degreed study of Music Theory in the Estonian Music Academy. |
