WLVR is Lehigh University's student operated radio station. WLVR has beeen broadcasting in one form or another for over fifty years. We offer truly original, inventive, daring and non conformist live broadcasting with real DJ's in human form. Once in a while we let the robot take over but that's only when we are locked out of the building or to busy to come in to do a show. After all, class comes first!!! hehe We change shifts every two hours to avoid sleep apnea and keep programmimg fresh. Hence you can hear everything from Punk to Hip Hop, Metal to Blues, Modern Rock to Classic Hits. We play LIVE so there are no playlists. When we are off the air for summer break our Community staff comes in and controls the WLVR airwaves. They are an ecclectic group of musical vagabonds that really rock the house into a frenzy while we're gone. Some of the favorite cult status shows are "Fritzrocks" ( 70's underground, power, import rock), The "Killing Ground" ( hard rock from 70's thru 2000 and beyond), "Rock With Radak"( Garage, Rockabilly, Surf * More), "Breifcase Blues"w The Blues Ambassador, Cadillac Blues w The Commander, "The Dungeon" w Shecky & Hoss( Hard Rock & Heavy Metal) and "Rock N Roll Archeology" w Dr. Deep Cuts to name just a few. There's "Urban Friday" 12 hours of Hip Hop, R&B and the hottest Jocks this side of Mt. St. Helens. "Stompin' Saturday" kicks your ass with rock and Heavy Metal for 12 hours or till your ears bleed!
