It's like a music festival without all the sweaty people and overpriced vegetarian food. Like the water, my definition of folk music is wide. I start with the instruments and music of the people (fiddle, acoustic guitar, banjo, accordion, etc.) and explore these folk roots wherever they take me, whether it's a singer/songwriter armed with an acoustic guitar and a message for the world, take-no-prisoners bluegrass picking, Celtic pipes and fiddles, the jangle-pop of the Kennedys or the Byrds, the folk/rock of Fairport Convention or Pentangle, the technofolk of Afro Celt Sound System, some accordion from the bayou or the angelic sacred harp singing of Anonymous 4.It's a freeform ride, so prepare to be have your horizons expanded. I'm always open to playing new artists, particularly underpublicized indie singer/songwriters. I have over 40 hours of tunes in rotation at any time, so you can listen all day at work.
