I'm a semi-"Old School" Radio Guy (I was on the air for most of the 80's and 90's) who never lost my love for, as Todd Rundgren once described, "a plastic waffle". Why the "Vinyl Fantasy"? Well, it made an obvious pun with the popular "Final Fantasy" video game franchise, but also it's always been a fantasy of mine to have a radio station where I could spin some really cool tunes for me, my friends, and other lovers of both popular and off-beat music (no, I don't believe those two things are mutually exclusive...). Putting this station on the air is a fun way of doing my own radio thing while getting to go through my LP collection in depth. I never know quite just what I found or what I'll throw on here. It's also a cool way to entertain my friends, who are spread out from the Northeast U.S. to Washington, D.C., and perhaps even further on business trips.
Favorite Artists

Gary Numan
Opened my eyes to alternative music. Showed me there was life beyond the top 40.

Tom Waits
Does his own thing, regardless of prevailing trends.

Elvis Costello
One of the most consistent artists of the "New Wave".

The Tubes
In their heyday, nobody mixed melody and parody like they did.

The Police
Virtuosity meets energy.

My first "New Wave" album purchase, it took to me a place I'd never been before.

Jam packed full of great tunes. Almost a double album on one disc.

A great listen all the way from beginning to end

The B-52's - Wild Planet
Chock full of great B-52's tunes.
