I grew up listening to old New Wave and post-punk bands like New Order, Love And Rockets, OMD, Depeche Mode, etc. It's left me collecting and hoarding great synthpop from around the globe today.
Favorite Artists
Mesh
Strong, soulful songs that translate well to the dance floor.
Front Line Assembly, et al
Everything these boys touch turns into music. Whether it's FLA proper, Delerium, Pro-Tech, Equinox, Noise Unit, Intermix or any of their other projects, it's all great listening.
VNV Nation
Powerful songs with hard hitting beats that are nearly impossible to sit still through. Slow, brooding songs with beautiful (albeit somewhat depressing) lyrics. Great stuff either way.
Orbital
Although some people consider Orbital to be a bit monotonous, I think they're great. Give "The Box" a listen.
Depeche Mode
Indisputably the most prolific band in my collection. I've amassed over 200 records and probably a similar number of CD's.
Metropolis Records
The Metropolis label is home to Front 242, Front Line Assembly, Clan of Xymox, and more than forty other innovative industrial, gothic, and electronic artists.
All Music Guide
AMG is a great place to find out more about a band. With links to solo and side projects, it's indispensable.
