Listening to Neuron Radio has always been FREE - I began webcasting because I love music, and wanted to share what I love with anyone who cared to enjoy it with me. I am not a commercial webcaster, I pay a monthly fee to Live365, who takes care of royalty payments, and I am not allowed to sell Ads (even if I wanted to). I make NO money as a webcaster. However, due to the March 2, 2007 ruling by CRB on behalf of the RIAA, the days of available musical diversity and FREE listening may soon be replaced by SILENCE. Unless these outrageous "per play" royalty fees (which AM/FM stations are NOT required to pay, by the way) are overturned, your choice of music will soon be severely limited. Live365 and similar services are on the meter, as these fees are also retroactive to January 2006. Changes must be implemented in order to keep these companies afloat while this issue is sorted out. Live365 webcasters (and hopefully, LISTENERS) are busy contacting government representatives (who may be our only hope at this point) and spreading the word about the effect this ruling will have on diversity and choice in music, if it is allowed to stand as written. If you've been considering a VIP subscription, NOW IS THE TIME TO DO IT.
