About general soul

Hello, I'm General Soul. I am a father, husband and musician where music is really big in my life. My career is in Technology. I also play the electric guitar. I've been for over 30 years and I've been in many bands. I currently play guitar in the band of my church. Music has always (and still is) fascinating and enjoyable to me. My parents, (of course) where major players in exposing me to the various genres that were available. My mother had a large collection of 45 RPMs, consisting mostly Soul and R&B music. My Father, a twenty-year Naval Officer, brought home many albums from the countries that he had visited from Japan, Cuba, Mexico, Africa, West Indies and areas. I've always enjoyed listening to the music my parents played. I believe the enjoyment is what planted a seed in me of want to be a radio DJ. Event hough, I'm not much of a conversationalist or have the personality of a good radio DJ, I've always wanted to share my music with others. However, thanks to Live365, it had allowed me, through the miracle of the Internet, enabled me to run and program my very own online radio station! During the mid to late 1990s, the early years of MP3s, I was able to digitally convert thousands of vinyl albums, singles and compact discs in to digital audio for my personal MP3 player. Fast forward to last year, I discovered Live365, I knew that this would be an opportunity to make my dream of broadcasting music come true! After many years of converting my music, I now have a way to share my love - music. Hopefully, you'll tune into my station and enjoy the tunes as much as I do! Trust me, I'm still finding rare music that aren't available on compact discs yet in various small record stores, yard sales and various charity outlets. Obviously, you'll notice the soothing, familiar sounds related to vinyl records, the pops and clicks - ain't nothing like it!! At your convenience, I hope you'll get a chance to listen to my station. If you like it, please don't forget to send me a message from my station's page.

All of the performers were from the Stax label such as Isaac Hayes, Albert King, The Emotions, Judy Clay, The Staple Singers, Rance Allen, just to name a few.
