About Ron 'Pete Sake' Mullens

Started hosting DIY Radio in August 1993 on WAPS fm in Akron, OH. DIY Radio aired for 18 years on WAPS until they canned all the specialty shows on July 31, 2011. I also play in a couple bands, The (Professional) Againsters and Teacher's Pet. Formerly played keyboard in the Rubber City Rebels, and started Teacher's Pet in 1978 after leaving the Rubber City Rebels. Also played in King Dapper Combo from 1995 to 2009. King Dapper Combo was the band that played in front of the train station at the end of the midway at Cedar Point's Halloweekends in 1999 and from 2002 to 2009.

DIY RADIO is a punk rock radio show that aired on The Summit WAPS 91.3FM in Akron, Ohio August 1993 to June 2011. DIY Radio's hosts are "Pete Sake" (Ron), Amy Animal, ED (just ED) and Chialla. DIY Radio has been available on the Web since 1998. On July 1st, 2011 WAPS cancelled all specialty shows including DIY Radio. Our move to Live 365 makes DIY Radio even better, instead of just 1 hour a week we now stream punk 24/7.

Be sure to tune in Sunday night 9pm - 10pm EST. We will be playing the new stuff we have received durring the week -- new releases, or just stuff that is new to us and a new addition to the DIY Radio 24/7 playlist. All songs on this special one hour weekly show will be songs that have never been played on DIY Radio and after this show they will be added to our 24 hour playlist. We will occasionally hosting this Sunday night show live just like we did on the original DIY Radio show.

And to quote a Nicotine song title (which was our live show theme song and will continue to be our special Sunday Show theme song) "Enjoy Punk Rock"!!!
