About Mike Dailor

Mike Dailor is a DJ, producer, musician and multimedia artist based in Rochester NY, USA. Mike started his musical career as a guitarist, but in college he traded in his axe for a set of headphones after a trip to the local theatre to see "Saturday Night Fever". After a successful run as a disco DJ at iconic clubs such as Rochester's 747 and Buffalo's Playboy Club in the late 70's, he jumped on the just-breaking wave of Hip Hop and rode it through the 80's, landing a weekly mix show on radio station WDKX and producing a string of mix plates (the now-infamous "Garbage Plates") that were heard on radio stations and beat boxes all across the country during the summer of 1985.

Mike hung up the headphones and put away the turntables for several years in the late 80's to concentrate on family life, and then in 1990 his brother gave him a cassette tape that would send him off in yet another musical direction. The album was Nine Inch Nails' "Pretty Hate Machine", and after listening to it non-stop for the better part of a month Mike was back in the studio writing industrial music on a computer and trying to figure out how to mix it live at clubs. By the end of the decade he had it pretty well figured out, having written his own software to allow him to DJ with digital audio and video files on laptop computers.

The 2000's found Mike hard at work as a DJ, remixer, videographer, electronic musician and producer, with 2 distinctly different live weekly events to offer. "AngstLAB", the hard-edged and hugely successful underground club night founded in 1994, came to a close in 2009 after an epic 15-year run. "Underground 80's", an homage to the alternative side of that decade, has become a favorite opening act for such legendary bands as A Flock Of Seagulls and The English Beat after coming to a close in 2001.

Mike's current weekly club event, "Mad*House", is held every Thursday night at Vertex in Rochester, NY, USA and serves up pretty much any style of house music you can image. New or old, electro or tech, underground or mainstream, with some trance and breaks mixed in for good measure, it's put together like a Swiss watch and guaranteed to keep you moving all night.

Mad*House: wicked-good house music!  AngstLAB: Putting the A in Alternative since 1994  Underground 80's: The dark side wants wants you back...  RE[TRO]SPECT: Taking you back to the future... again! This ride opens winter 2009.

[DJ] MIKE DAILOR SAYS:

Hello, thanks for visiting! I'm a DJ/Producer from the USA, and I host a weekly club event called "Mad*House" at Vertex, which is located in Rochester, New York. The set you're listening to was recorded live from my DJ mixer at one of those shows, and I post a new one each week as soon as I've recovered from the Thursday night party, so generally on Saturday or Sunday. ;-)

You'll find the track list for this week's sets below, and you can find the lists for sets you may have heard here in the past here on my web site, MikeDailor.com. Let me know if there's a set 'o the past you'd like me to spin up again, I'm always happy to hear from you. -> madhouse@mikedailor.com

DISCLAIMER: This station's content is 99% work-appropriate, BUT... if you love dance music as much as I do, and you've got a desk job, you're gonna have a hard time keeping your butt in your office chair. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Enjoy!
