Green Jar Grind, Noalimba Breakout, Sunset Cafe Stomp, Waltzing Matilda, Up To No Good - these are among my favourite tunes. Noalimba Breakout was an Original Tune Competition winner at the annual Australian Jazz Convention, written by Eric Holroyd, Trumpet, and is a reflection of the feeling of some of the attendees at that convention, when accomodation was in a former Migrant Hostel. I attended that year and heard some call the venue Stalag Luft XIII ! But the convention was great, as it is every year! The week between Christmas Day and New Year's Day! It's the longest running Jazz Festival/Convention in the world, running since 1946!!
