Frankly is hard to put together a radio show, but it’s harder yet if one tries to narrow it into a specific current such as contemporary music from South America. We created Mirando al Sur Radio to explore this music and their artists. We’ll explore Folk & Jazz from South America, and just like Bossa Nova influenced Jazz we will visit Tango, Milonga, Forró, Chorró, Zamba, Samba, Vaguala, Candombe, Cumbia and many other rhythms influenced by Jazz resulting in a new fusion of sounds, techniques and feelings. There is no concept in terms of classification for Mirando al Sur Radio; at least in the classifications known today that generalizes everything into the genre -World Music-. We are going to cross musical borders and Jazz will be present for sure-. South America will remain as the main road for the show’s motto but a little bit different, as we step into the unknown here and there, going north, east and west; following the trails of fusion among musical styles and cultures in a whole new wave of emotions.
