Thank you for your listenership and support of The Stream at SoloPiano.com. I am continually grateful for my listeners, and the Artists that have reached out and shared their music, support and encouragement to make this one of the most successful radio stations on Live365.com. I too am a Solo Piano Artist. I come from a town of 600 people, and graduated from a class of 13. The town pastor, who lived across the street, was my piano teacher and changed my life. Shortly after my Grandpa Webster passed away (who was an accomplished piano player, entertaining for local weddings and dances), at the age of 12 I started piano lessons. At an age when most boys turn away from the instrument, something innately called me to it. Learning from the late Art Cooper, who stretched me in the beginning with original sheets of Alley Cat, Never on Sunday, and Maple Leaf Rag, I started into composition early. During my Senior Year of High School, at 17 I spent 9 months writing a Fourteen Piece Band Song featuring the piano. The 5 minute song titled "The Passing of Time" was played one time at the Canistota High Spring Concert of 1996. Continuing on to college with another year of classical training,my first solo piano album was released in the Spring of 1999 (Back in the day of CMYK layered film to create a CD cover:) A year later, I co-created a new course at the University of South Dakota called "The Business of Music". Because of a special mentor in my life, I was then off to Burbank, California where I started my working career at NBC Studios, for the television show Access Hollywood. Associate Producer for several Televised events, I went back to obtain an MBA, all the while pursuing my passion of music. While living in California, I wrote the solo piano album "Beyond". A decade later, the established Reviews New Age from Spain, would name Beyond #37 of one of the Top 50 Piano Songs of All Time. I continue to operate SoloPiano.com, where over 300 piano artists share their albums and stories, and we operate this radio station "The Stream at SoloPiano.com" hosted by Live365.com. It is also a privilege to be an official Grammy® Voting Member with the Recording Academy. I want to hear from you...seriously.......what is your story? How did you find us? How can our music help you? With Love and Gratitude, Matthew Mayer Owner/Founder SoloPiano.com
