Workday and family variety music mix
About The Disc Jockey "Super Jukebox" is owned and operated by Joe Laurendeau a former Weekend Disc Jockey for a popular Oldies Station. Joe & Kristi produced and hosted their own radio program every Sunday from noon-2pm in the Lake Region of N.H. Joe has been listening to radio since pre-school being the son of the late Louie Laurendeau who played LIVE broadcasts on radio in the 1930's-40's with Country Music Hall Of Fame greats Grandpa Jones & Bradley Kincaid the "Kentucky Mountain Boy". Louie played many string instruments and was best known for being "The Master Of The Steel Guitar" as he was a close friend of Eddie Alkire, the inventor of the Ten String Lap Steel Guitar known as the EHARP. Joe's dad could listen to any song and quickly play a Steel Guitar Instrumental version of hits by the Beatles, The String Alongs, Santo & Johnny & Les Paul to name a few. Louie Laurendeau was an accomplished Country Music Steel Guitar Player and he enjoyed playing Hawaiian Steel Guitar Music even more. Louie would take young Joe along with him on weekends when he played steel guitar at weddings in the Southern New England area in such bands as "Brownie & His Rythm Ramblers" in the 60's and "The Twilighters" in the 70's. Joe's mother has always been a music lover and has raised Joe on a mix of Old Country, Pop, Classic Rock and even Polkas. As Joe was a teenager in the 70's he grew to enjoy Hard Rock and even Disco music. The 80's were a slight variation of the 70's with One Hit Wonders & New Wave Hits. Kristi grew up enjoying Broadway, Hollywood, Television and Top 40 music. Kristi was an active member in the Streetcar Company, a small Theater group in central NH. Kristi has had the lead parts in such musicals as The Sound Of Music and Hello Dolly. When Joe met Kristi in 1993 in a small church performing in a locally produced version of Godspell something magical happened. Now years later three wonderful children and a Family Radio Program are the results.
