THE BEST OF FLAMENCO MUSIC

This music was the passion of Edward Meadows, who died Sept 24, 2004 at the young age of 60. He lived in Jerez de la Frontera since 1999, and hung out with flamenco artists. He wrote a book about the flamenco life (unpublished,) ran a flamenco tablao for a year , and produced some flamenco recordings. He knew quite a bit about current flamenco music. We, his friends, keep this station alive in his memory. Listen and fall in love with this music he loved so much.
From Edward:"It's too bad that this music is little heard outside of Spain, and that you can't even get many of the CDs outside of this country (or sometimes outside of this city).
This station is helping make the music better-known. The best flamenco music is really deep stuff, or really fun stuff, and it deserves to be heard. The playlist is exactly 12 hours long, and gets rotated every day, so you don't hear the same songs if you tune in at the same hour.
In Jerez, we have the top current flamenco artists in the world - José Mercé with Moraíto Chico on guitar - and too many other top artists to list here - more than 200 flamenco musicians, plus some from nearby - Chano Lobato from Cádiz and Remedios Amaya from Seville, for example.
It's not all Siguiriyas and Bulerías: We also have some great New Flamenco and flamenco/jazz artists here, such as Diego Carrasco, Navajita Plateá, and others.
We update the playlist several times a week, to give you a nice variety, and to add new CDs as they come out.
